Compton Verney: early deeds

Description

Grant by William Durvassal of Compton Murdak to Joan his daughter, of a quarter messuage within the said manor, 22 feet long by 18 feet wide, lying between the gate and the cowshed, together with a plot of land outside the manor, 48 feet long and 36 feet wide, with free rights of entry within and without the manor for the term of her life.

For which quarter messuage and land, the said Joan or her assigns will pay yearly at St John's day, a rose in flower.
