Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton, a grant

Description

Grant by William, son and heir of William Clerk of Gaydon who was heir of Master John Clerk of Gaydon, to John Jones, chaplain of Compton, John, son of Margery Schuette of Wootton and William, brother of the said John Jones, one messuage and virgate of land in Compton for their respective lives, which messuage and lands were formerly held by Alan Hobekyns.

Paying therefore annually eighteen shillings, at two terms and foreign service to the king, with heriot payable on the death of any of them.
