Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton [?], a grant

Description

Grant by Sir Thomas Murdak, lord of Compton Murdak, to Henry Gascoyne of Compton Murdak and Alice his wife, of one messuage and one virgate of land which William Edde formerly held, and one messuage adjoining the aforesaid messuage, with chamber and curtilage, which Thomas Croppwell, chaplain holds; and one cottage and curtilage adjoining which Alice Attewelle holds.

To hold to the said Henry and Alice for the term of their lives and the longest liver, paying twenty two shillings at four usual terms in lieu of all services except suit of court and a heriot when due. Also releases Henry from duty of tithingman for Compton during his life.
