Notes about the Sion Cope possibly originating at Pinley Priory. [The Syon Cope, housed in the South Kensington Museum, now the Victoria and Albert Museum].
These notes consist of:
A typescript copy of letter (with hand-written corrections and annotations) from C.C. Bayley to W.S. Brassington (undated)
Attached is an extract from a publication, consisting of three annotated sheets (numbered p. 167 - 172). These sheets are headed 'Embroidery on Costume' and consist of sections on collar (p.167 - 168) and Copes (p.168-172). As at 05/01/2019, the publication from which these sheets have been extracted is believed to be ''Descriptive Catalogue of Tapestry and Embroidery' by Alleyn S. Cole (1889).
