Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton, an agreement

Description

Agreement between Elizabeth Verney of Compton Mordoke, widow on one part, and Nicholas Blaby of Napton and William Southam of Priors Marston, on the other whereby Elizabeth leases to the said Nicholas and William, the herbage of one close within the lordship of Compton called Estfyld alias Prestfyld, for 8 years.

Paying annually therefore £8 at four feasts, viz: St Peter ad Vincula, All Saints, The Purification of the Virgin and the Invention of the Holy Cross.

Right of entry and distraint if unpaid and repossession if continues unpaid.

Nicholas and William to keep all hedges and ditches in good repair. No power to them to take any timber, thorns or quickset from the said close.

They to pay all services due to the Crown during the term
