Cyril Collard: Wellesbourne research papers

Description

Files and card indexes compiled from the 1990s by Cyril Collard during his researches into the history of Wellesbourne in the nineteenth century.

Collard's main interest was the functioning of the rural economy, with particular reference to the agricultural labourer, and the papers comprise copies and analyses of the major sources available, viz. census returns; tithe and land tax records; school, church and chapel records; directories, newspapers and electoral rolls; farm account books etc.
