Draft marriage settlement and associated memorandum: Louis Oliver Alford Hunt of Bishopton and Mary Louisa Higgins of Bishopton

Description

Draft marriage settlement of Louis Oliver Alford Hunt of Bishopton, gent., and Mary Louisa Higgins of Bishopton, spinster: MLH's jointure from Hunt was a charge of an annuity of £50 to her in the event of her surviving him on the lands settled by the will of John Griffiths Alford of The Thorne, Birley, Herefs. (died 15th January 1879). MLH agreed to settle her undivided half share in property in Alveston, Burmington near Barcheston, and Farnborough to herself for life, then to LOAH, with remainder to any children; failing this, then the estate would go to Margaret E. Higgins, her sister, 20th April 1898. Attached is a memorandum from the Legacy and Succession Duty Office following the death of Mary L. Hunt, dated 1899.
