Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton Murdak, a lease

Description

Paper copy of lease from the Dean and chapter of the College of St Mary, Warwick, to Thomas Verney of Compton Murdak (Mordocke), esquire, of the parsonage and lands of Compton, with 4 tofts, 84 acres and 1 rood of land, and all appurtenances, Hunscote only excepted, for a term of eighty years, paying 53s 4d annually at Michalemans and Lady Day.

Verney agrees to maintain and repair the chancel of the said church of Compton at his own cost, to pay all subsidies and charges arising, and to pay the wages of the parish priest.
