From the library David Garrick. Pasted inside front board of volume one is Garrick's ex libris. Inserted in volume one is a letter from the book dealer, quoting an extract from a letter received by them from the auctioneers: "Originally at Garrick's Villa, Hampton-on-Thames, they were given to the late H. E. Trevor (for many years Vicar of Hendon) who was a direct descendent of Garrick, at the same time that other furniture was removed to the Victoria and Albert Museum, South Kensington, London. These articles have not been out of possession of the Garrick and Trevor families until now."
