Oak tester bedstead

Description

An oak tester bedstead; the associated seven-panel tester with moulded framework; raised on four diaper-carved octagonal-section posts; the footposts with square central knops, carved with rosettes and stars, one face incorporating an owl; the headboard with two rows of four linenfold panels set in moulded framework, above four plain panels; raised on chamfered block feet; English, part 16th-century; incorporating four early 16th-century posts, the top row of linenfold panels being possibly early 19th century; the lower row modern; the tester late 17th century; the remainder modern.
