Description

'Rapier, of Shakespeare's day, apparently of German manufacture - The perforated blade is 2 feet 10 1/2 inches long, and engraved on one side 'PEDRO TESCH,' and on the other side 'AN SOLUNGEN'. The hilt is of steel, and the leathern scabbard is bound with steel.' 1910 Catalogue, 17th century German rapier blade, cut down and fitted to a steel smallsword hilt. A deep fuller pierced in places and marked 'Pedro Tesch' and 'Solingen', but without Solingen marks., 'A fine and perfect rapier, with perforated blade and a scabbard, of the Shakespearian period.' 1868 Catalogue
