Commemorative sword

Description

Mid 20th century commemorative sword; unsharpened steel blade chased with scenes of the Birthplace, the Globe Theatre and Shakespeare's Arms, listing the plays: 'Romeo' [Juliet omitted], Macbeth, Hamlet, King Lear and Henry V; wooden hilt; gilded brass transverse quillons and guard with Stratford-upon-Avon coat-af-arms; hilt terminates in flattened-ball pommel of brass; scabbard of brass and leather.
