Silver seal-top spoon

Description

Early 17th century silver seal-top spoon, hexagonal stem tapering to the terminal. Terminal, or 'knop', in baluster form with fluted decoration and flat circular top. Top is enscribed 'H.C.' with pricked engraving. Bowl is a curved pear-shape with makers mark. Maker's mark 'C' enclosing an 'I' for James Cluatt, London 1607.
