Costrel

Description

A sixteenth-century costrel; yellow earthenware fabric; rilled globular body; pierced lug handles; narrow slightly concave neck with beaded rim; yellow and green glaze over top half of vessel; flat base with single incised line above slightly flared foot; kiln scars on body of jug and around one of the handles.
