Half-headed bedstead

Description

A late 17th century oak half-headed bedstead; the panelled headboard simply carved with two rows of lunettes with 'U' gouged 'S's; joined by heavy side rails to a foot-rail supported on domed, square-sectioned posts; English, c.1680; the headboard originally surmounted by a cresting panel.
