Oak chest

Description

A late 17th century oak chest; the three-panel lid with moulded framework; the front frieze deeply carved with nulling, above three panels with floral inlay in moulded framework; English, Yorkshire. c.1675; series of replacement hinges; lockplate and hasp replaced; feet now missing; abundant signs of old red paint; inlaid panels later stripped.
