A mid 18th century portrait; oil on canvas; young girl standing near an urn containing flowers; wearing a plain low-necked, short-sleeved dress with dark blue underskirt; brown and white dog at her side, whippet type; gilt and black lacquered wood and plaster frame; frame slightly damaged.
Original auction catalogue lists it as a portrait of Frances Clopton (1719=1792) by Thomas Hudson.
