Unknown Woman

Description

Portrait of a woman, half-length, wearing a white dress with a white rose and a bonnet; in a painted oval. Oil on canvas in a carved wood frame. Supposedly Charlotte Clopton but the subject is shown in clothing of the eighteenth century. Charlotte Clopton was believed to be a contemporary of Shakespeare.
