Description

A late 16th century Raeren stoneware jug; blue on gray; tin glazed stoneware jug; two rings around top; behind spout a coat of arms; Adam, Eve and possibly the Tree of Life on neck and 8 lion-head masks; pn body, medallion with coat of arms and 'E.VH 1576' supported by lion and griffon, repeated on both sides; foot ring with 3 blue rings; at base of spout, grotesque bearded face; spout handle and body have small applied flowers; spout has 2nd strengthening attachment to rim; spout broken and repaired; label on base reads 16 ww/-.
