Carved oak chest

Description

A late 16th-century oak chest; the cruciform panelled rectangular lid above a three-panelled front carved with figures of Lucretia, Mars and Judith with the head of Holofernes; now raised on shaped apron; French, c.1575; new lipping to lid; lock plate and hinges replaced; base apron added.
