Venetian drug jar

Description

A late 16th century Venice maiolica wet drug jar; yellow, green and brown on blue; painted with an oval medallion of a young man agaist a blue-washed ground of scrolling foliage under spout; also an oval medallion under handle depicting a man in white turban and brown jacket with white collar; yellow rim and base; spout badly chipped, base chipped, glaze crazed generally.
