Panel-back armchair
Description
A mid 17th century panel-back armchair; the straight moulded capping rail and large rear panel decorated with applied prisms and a silhouette arch; the scrolled arms raised on baluster-turned supports; the moulded two-plank seat on sloped and moulded rails with baluster-turned legs and plain stretchers; English, c.1650; rear feet replaced and also rear stretcher, other minor patches.
