Backstool

Description

A late 17th century walnut and ash backstool, shaped and carved cresting above canework panel flanked by spiral turnings; the cane seat with stamped framework, raised on spiral-turned legs and stretchers with baluster-turned lower stretcher; English, c.1675; generally wormed and cane replaced.
