Half-headed bedstead

Description

A 16th/17th century oak and elm half-headed bedstead with simple pegs, mortise and tennon joints; the headboard with moulded cornice above two horizontal planks fronted with false framing of moulded plank and flanked by moulded uprights; the heavy side-rails linking with domed, octagonal-section footposts; English, c. 1550-1650; cornice rail replaced.
