Description
Mid 20th-century decorative souvenir plate; with green transfer print of Anne Hathaway's Cottage, surrounded by trees, with several people in foregouend; base marked 'Shakespeare's Country' in a shield surmounted with bascinet and surrounded with foliate decoration; beneath reads 'ROYAL IRONSTONE ESSEX' and '11 MADE IN ENGLAND 72 DISHWASHER PROOF', all in green; stained with circular cracks in glaze surface around where base meets rim, on front and reverse; heavily stained on reverse of rim and worn at three points (due to suspension wires).
