Game, Poultry, Fish and Vegetables with a Maid Plucking a Goose

Description

A still life, in oil on bevelled panel, probably English. This unusual still life could have been designed as a shop decoration, given the size of the panel, and is clearly influenced by Flemish still lives by artists such as Joachim Beukelaer (born about 1530, died 1573), in whose works the motif of a kitchen maid often appears, as well as Peter Aertsen (1507-1575).
