Souvenir trinket box

Description

Ceramic trinket box produced to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth. Produced from the Shakespeare Exhibition 1964 by Holkham Pottery Ltd. (Norfolk) and Lidor Ltd. (Surrey). The lid has Shakespeare's portrait from the Droeshout engraving in the First Folio (1623), with Shakespeare's signature underneath. This is surrounded by reproduction signatures of various leading actors of the day. Further signatures are printed on the sides of the box.
