Hall's Croft by William Wells Quatremain

Description

Hall's Croft by William Wells Quatremain, watercolour on paper. The painting shows the rear elevation of the house from the garden with a figure in the foreground. Quatremain lived in Stratford-upon-Avon from at least 1871 until his death in 1930. He was a professional artist and art teacher and also painted set backdrops for the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre (which later became the Royal Shakespeare Theatre).
